Athletic scholarships and university pathways in the United States.
Athletic Pathways supports international student-athletes and their families in understanding, preparing for and pursuing suitable university and college sporting opportunities in the United States. Every athlete is assessed individually according to their sporting profile, academic background, eligibility, intended intake and long-term objectives.
Athletic Pathways helps international student-athletes and their families explore suitable university and college sporting opportunities in the United States.
We provide structured support throughout the process, from the initial sporting and academic assessment to athlete-profile preparation, university research, eligibility guidance and communication with coaches and institutions.
Athletic Pathways does not guarantee admission, team selection, scholarship funding or financial aid. Final decisions are made by the relevant universities, colleges, coaches and governing bodies.
Understanding US College Sport
NCAA Division I
Highly competitive university sport. Athletic scholarships may be available within the relevant institutional, team and sport-specific limits.
NCAA Division II
Competitive university sport where athletic scholarships may be combined with academic, merit-based or other forms of financial assistance.
NCAA Division III
Competitive university sport without athletic scholarships. Student-athletes may still qualify for academic, merit-based and need-based financial assistance.
NAIA
A separate US university-athletics association offering competitive sporting opportunities and potential athletic scholarships at participating institutions.
Junior colleges
Two-year college pathways that may provide sporting, academic and transfer opportunities. Athletic-aid availability depends on the institution and division.
The most appropriate pathway depends on the athlete's sporting level, academic profile, eligibility, preferred course, budget and long-term objectives.

US scholarship questions.
What types of US college opportunities are available?+
Athletic scholarships may be available at NCAA Division I and II institutions, NAIA universities and eligible junior colleges. NCAA Division III institutions do not award athletic scholarships, although student-athletes may qualify for academic, merit-based and need-based financial assistance.
Do you guarantee a scholarship?+
No. Scholarship, admission and team-selection decisions are made by universities, colleges, coaches and governing bodies. Athletic Pathways helps athletes prepare professionally and pursue suitable opportunities but cannot guarantee an outcome.
When should an athlete start?+

Starting early provides more time for academic preparation, sporting footage, eligibility processes, university research and coach communication. Athletes with shorter timelines may still be assessed individually.
Can international athletes apply?+
Yes. International student-athletes may pursue US university and college opportunities, subject to academic, sporting, eligibility, immigration and institutional requirements.
Does NCAA Division III provide athletic scholarships?+
No. NCAA Division III institutions do not award athletic scholarships. They may provide academic, merit-based and need-based financial assistance.
What information is needed for an initial assessment?+
The initial assessment may consider the athlete's sporting history, current level, academic background, graduation year, video footage, preferred field of study, intended intake and financial circumstances.
